Description

12" (30 cm.) Standing upon a tinplate three-wheeled platform is a bisque-headed girl with swivel head, blue glass enamel eyes, beautifully painted facial features, closed mouth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, block torso, paper mache legs, wire upper arms, metal hands. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Comments: attributed to Vichy, circa 1870. Value Points: the dear little girl wears her original aqua silk dress with braid trim, undergarments, matching hat and slippers and hold a shuttlecock and racquet in her right hand. When wound, she moves forward and in circles, moving her arm up and down as though playing shuttlecock.
