12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with a different face on front and back, one side depicting an Austrian soldier having green sculpted brimmed cap and sculpted brown hair, brown glass side-glancing googly eyes, painted impish smile on closed mouth; the alternate side depicting Turkish soldier with red fez having traditional moon/star emblems, sculpted black hair, brown glass googly eyes, impish smile on closed mouth; with composition ball-jointed body, soldiers costume, shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Elite 2/0 (O on Austrian face, T on Turkish face). Comments: from the Elite googly soldier series by Max Handwerck, circa 1916. Value Points: the rarest model from this series with fine quality of bisque and sculpting.
