10" (25 cm.) Bisque socket head with sculpted black military helmet having gilt spread eagle design and peaked finial, painted facial features, intaglio blue eyes, closed mouth sculpted as though open with outlined lips, painted lashes and brows, dimpled cheeks, composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, tiny chip very low at the bottom back neck socket. Marks: Heubach (square) Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1915. Value Points: very rare model with sculpted helmet, original wool flannel costume and metal sabre.
