30" (76 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, painted dark curly lashes, dark eyeliner, brush-stroked brows with feathered detail, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K*R Simon & Halbig 117 76. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, their 117 model, named "Mein Susser Liebling" (my sweet darling) was introduced in 1912 as a compromise doll between the classic pretty dolly and the character models. Value Points: a premiere example of the desirable wistful faced child in fine large size with beautiful bisque and painting, original body, wearing antique navy sailor costume, argyle socks, leather shoes.
