25" (64 cm.) Bisque socket head, small brown glass eyes with deeply set sockets, painted lashes, brush-stroked brows with decorative glaze, accented eye corners and nostrils, upturned nose tip, closed mouth, heart-shaped upper lips, accent line between the lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair, composition and wooden fully jointed body, bisque lower arms from the elbow. Condition: generally excellent, the elbow portion of bisque arms is over-painted and may be restored beneath. Comments: unmarked, the dolls maker remains a mystery, circa 1895. Value Points: very appealing yet curious facial model of eager young child, excellent bisque with impressed chin and lip corner dimples, original body with beautifully modeled hands, fine antique multi-layered costume.
