7" (18 cm.) basket. 4.5" dolls. An egg-shaped woven basket with intricate design weave and loop handle is perfectly fitted inside with a pair of rare black all-bisque dolls with sculpted hair and peg-jointed bisque arms and legs, along with a bounty of accessories, viz towels, tub, comb, soap, sachet in little red cotton sack, and brush, the presentation decorated with red silk ribbons. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: German dolls, the presentation for the French market, circa 1885. Value Points: the originality of the presentation is rivaled by its creative and delightful contents, and by the rarity of the two early dolls.
