10" (25 cm.) Standing on a tinplate three-wheeled platform is a bisque-headed girl with unusual sculpted hair in short curly style, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, wooden block torso, paper mache legs, wire upper arms, metal hands and fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Theroude, circa 1860. When wound the toy moves forward and around in circles, while the girl moves her arm up and down as though offering flowers to all. Value Points: the rare model with sculpted hair enhances the delicacy of the action, wears original Normandy costume of cream and rose silk dress with silk ribbon trims, elaborate Normandy coiffe, and carrying basket of flowers.
