21" (53 cm.) l. 21"h. to top of steeple. A wooden stable is fancifully shaped with scrolled sides and roof-line, has architectural details of columns, and a small cottage apartment above the carriage room. The stable is painted in original pale green and ochre with stenciled dark green, black and red trim to simulate half-timbers and bricks; there are cut-out windows at front and sides (four with faux stained glass windows), and opening shutters at the front. There is a tall ornamental pole above, carriage room with paper-carpet floor and two wooden horse carts, and 3 horse stalls each with hitching post and metal feeding tray. Included three paper mache horses on wooden platforms, and two paper mache cows on wooden platforms, along with a bisque-headed German doll as groomsman in original factory uniform. Excellent condition. Attributed stylistically to the workshops of Christian Hacker, circa 1890.
