23" (58 cm.) Bisque socket head depicting a wistful-faced girl, painted facial features, shaded blue eyes, thick black upper eyeliner, one stroke tapered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full shaded lips, blonde mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K*R 114 57. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, from their art character series, the model marketed as "Gretchen", circa 1909. Value Points: rare to find in this large size, having superb sculpting and fine luminous bisque with enhancing glaze on eyes, original body and body finish, fine antique costume.
