Pressed bisque socket head with very full lower cheeks, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick black eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with slightly wistful expression, defined space between the pale accented lips, separately applied pierced ears, delicate blushing on ears, chin and cheeks, brunette human hand-tied wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with plump limbs and straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 15 (head) Jumeau Medaille d Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, his signature model known as Triste in reference to wistful expression, sculpted for Jumeau by illustrious French artist Carrier-Belleuse.
