An open-top wooden coach with original black and brown paint with gold stenciling, paper-lined floor, upholstered seat, two carriage lamps, leather drivers seat had four wooden spoked wheels and is being pulled by a brown flocked paper mache horse in trotting position, having sculpted mane and very elaborate harness and saddle including parade ribbons, mounted on wheeled wooden base. In the carriage are two paper mache coach men with sculpted hats, sculpted hair with long sideburns, painted facial features, paper mache torso, wire upper arms and legs to allow posing, paper mache or wooden lower limbs, and wearing original vibrant woolen uniforms trimmed with gilt metallic edging. Condition: generally excellent, one reglue on carriage base. Marks: Spiel & Korbwaaren Ant. C. Niessner Wien (original paper label on base). Comments: Germany, circa 1850, sold by the Viennese toy store of Niessner. Value Points: superbly of the early luxury toy with rare sculpted top hats, original costumes, finely decorated horse preserved condition.
