Description

17" (43 cm.) Pink tinted porcelain shoulder head with solid dome, slender oval face, very elongated throat, painted upper glancing blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, lightly brush-stroked brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with hint of smile, brunette mohair wig, muslin stitch-jointed body, porcelain arms, antique gown and undergarments. Condition: break and reglue at right shoulderplate (under gown) with one nickel-sized rebuilt piece, one thumb tip chipped. Marks: S 84 (impressed inside shoulderplate). Comments: attributed to Schlaggenwald, circa 1850. Value Points: very beautiful gentle expression with enigmatic smile, fine complexion.
