12 1/2" (32 cm.) Polychromed earthenware shoulderhead depicting a youthful prince, bald pate excepting sculpted tuft at back crown, enamel eyes, sculpted parted lips, row of tiny teeth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, sculpted green knee-high boots with red rims, wearing original silk costume comprising lined silk jacket with metallic trim, silk shirt with tallic yoke and coral buttons, silk sash, breeches, turban, and carrying metal scabbard and dagger. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, mid-1700s. Value Points: very expressive features and distinctive hair design, original finish, and elaborate original costume.
