Description
15" (38 cm.) l. of bed, 11" doll. Resting in a spindled brass bed with lavish bed covered and pillows is a bisque-head doll with brown glass sleep eyes, painted features, open mouth, blonde mohair wig, wearing antique night clothes and bonnet, and holding a small bisque doll with blue glass eyes wrapped in blue-ribbon trimmed baby bunting. When wound at the side of the bed, the doll slowly raises and lowers her body, while also appearing to rock the baby she holds. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Comments: Germany, circa 1900. Value Points: well-preserved and rare German mechanism toy with appealing movements, beautifully fitted.
