10" (25 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with sculpted short reddish/brown curly hair, rosy complexion, googly eye sockets with set-in eyes whose irises are freely moving, painted spectacles encircle the eyes, lashes and brows, tiny button nose, closed mouth with prim smile, dimpled cheeks, muslin body, composition arms, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: DRGM 9546 Germany. Comments: Hermann Steiner, his registered model of 1926 that he proclaimed was a revolution in the doll industry allowing "Irises rotating in every direction"; the system was utilized in an amusing series of googly dolls of which this is the only example with painted spectacles. Value Points: amusing and rare googly.
