Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head with three alternate faces, arranged inside paper mache hood that is attached to composition torso, including glass-eyed frowning face, glass-eyed smiling face, and face with painted closed eyes, each with sculpted facial features to enhance the expression. The faces are alternately revealed by turned knob at the top of head. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D.R.P. (torso). Comments: Carl Bergner, circa 1888, who registered the multi-face system. Value Points: especially fine quality of modeling and bisque on the three-faced doll with rarer to find facial models.
