37" (94 cm.) A carved wooden horse in galloping pose having original painted finish, glass eyes, open mouth, leatherette blanket and saddle, is positioned as the riding seat on a cast iron tricycle having fancy scrolling, two foot pedals, wooden hand grips with cast iron frames. Excellent condition. French, circa 1870, the luxury toy was made by several Parisian firms including that of Auguste Reidemeister, the brother-in-law of dollmaker Leontine Rohmer.
