Description
26" (66 cm.) l. x 12:h. A wooden framed kitchen room is constructed with flared sides, its walls and floor covered with faux-tile papers in a variety of patterns, and having original ochre paint with blue trim and striping. The wooden furniture matches the walls and is original to the room, comprising paneled door cupboard, narrow table and two chairs (each with boat scene on seat), work table and bench. There is a tinplate stove with faux-tile front, penny toy tin bird cage with mechanical action, tinplate including hanging oil lamp and stenciled boxes, blue tole, porcelain crocks, and a large number of other kitchen utensils in wood and metal, all of the period. Very good/excellent condition. Germany, circa 1885.
