13" (33 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with light amber complexion depicting an aged Native American woman, having deeply incised age and worry wrinkles, painted tiny blue bead eyes under heavy eyelids, broad nose with flared nostrils, closed mouth with full downcast lips, white mohair wig, muslin body, composition lower limbs, wearing brown buckskin fringed costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Heubach 8457 Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910, the doll is believed to be a portrait of Native American Princess Angeline, daughter of Chief Seattle. Value Points: superb sculpting enhanced by luminous complexion on the rare portrait doll.
