Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, pale blue glass enamel eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, all-wooden lady body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, ball-jointing at waist. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1871, the distinctive wooden body which was deposed by him at that time was described in his papers as having "a fully perfected grace". Value Points: very beautiful early example of Brus deposed poupee with perfect original body and body finish, hint of smiling expression, original royal blue gown with watch and fob, matching bonnet, undergarments, earrings and leather boots signed "B" in script.
