Solid domed bisque shoulder head turned to the right, with rounded facial shape and slightly elongated throat, blue glass spiral threaded eyes, painted curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with downcast lips, center accent line, blonde mohair curly wig, original commercial kid body with stitch-jointing, bisque forearms, nicely costumed in boys Sunday best silk suit, leather shoes with real leather soles and heels, straw hat. Condition: generally excellent excepting faint hairline on shoulderplate, one finger tip chipped, kid body especially sturdy and clean. Comments: maker unknown, circa 1885. Value Points: exquisite facial modeling enhanced by pleasing blush on very pale complexion, finest quality bisque and sturdy body. The doll has been featured on posters and brochures of the Vienna Puppen & Spielzeug Museum.
