22" (56 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with light brown sculpted hair in side-parted boyish fashion, brown glass inset eyes, painted dark lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, dimpled chin, pink kid pin-jointed body with composition and wooden ball-jointed arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 30/B9. Comments: Germany, circa 1885, the model known as "American Schoolboy". Value Points: fine larger size of this model allowing excellent detail of sculpting, fine quality of bisque, wearing antique sailor costume, leather boots.
