Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head with plump facial modeling, blue glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, thick brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, brunette mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden early body with plump torso, straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, left thumb missing, original body finish albeit scuffed. Marks: 14. Comments: Kestner, circa 1885. Value Points: beautiful early child with well-detailed painting of rich features, wearing wonderful antique costume including dress, undergarments, knit stockings, cream kid shoes, bonnet.
