24 (61 cm.) Thick paste bisque shoulder head depicting adult lady with slender face and elongated throat, black sculpted hair in very elaborate coiffure with fullness at crown, two small ringlet curls at either side of forehead, long ringlet curl modeled away from head and falling behind each fully sculpted pierced ear, and an arrangement of ringlet curls held by large blue bow, the curls sculpted away from the head, painted facial features, deeply defined eye sockets with blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, black single stroke brows, accented nostrils of aquiline nose, closed mouth with center accent line, muslin stitch-jointed body, porcelain lower limbs, painted boots, antique gown and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1. Comments: Germany, circa 1865, maker unknown. Value Points: superb and very rare early bisque with unusual detail of hair sculpting modeled away from head, fine detail of facial sculpting.
