11" (28 cm.) Each has kid leather face with shaped definition, black bead eyes, painted features, grey woolen hair (the gentleman also with beard), cloth-covered wooden body, leather hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to C.H. White, England, who created a series of peddler dolls of this style in the early 1800s. Value Points: each mounted on original base under glass dome, wearing original peddler costume and carrying basket filled with wares and notions including bead jewelry, tools, prints, decorative boxes, sewing tools and thread, books, bellows and more.
