13" (33 cm.) x 15". A wooden framed room with faux floor-to-ceiling windows at the back wall and sky-light in ceiling features faux green marble window frames and edging, richly sculpted architectural details, textured fabric wall covering, faux-marble floor, green velvet draperies and valance, and is furnished in the manner of an "Early English Room" according to the label at the backside. Furnishings include a pair of Gainsborough style portraits in gilt frames depicting the lord and lady of the manor, circular mirror with garland trim, pair of elaborate candleabra on matching pedestals, wing chair, Chinoiserie chest, velvet-cushioned gilded bench, chandelier, and accessories. The room has a glass gilt frame window, and rests upon a wooden frame (overall height with frame is 22"). A paper label at the back reads "Early English room, Narcissa Thorne, Dec. 1964" indicating that the noted miniaturist created this example in the latter years of her life, and considering the December date, was likely a gift. Excellent condition. American, from the rare series of miniature "Thorne Rooms", circa 1964.
