Description
16" (41 cm.) One piece hollow paper mache or carton head and bust, with painted black pate, applied printed shaded blue eyes, brows,lips, and bodice ruffle. Condition: very good, unrestored, some typical paint rubs and wear at part line of hair, and nose tip. Marks: Danjard Depose 1860. Comments: Louis Danjard, circa 1860, based upon his patent for decoration of milliner's heads (described in the Encyclopedia of French Dolls, volume I, page 169. Value Points: rare signed and charming early paper mache object.
