Description

21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, painted curly lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, open mouth with richly shaded lips, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, wheat-blonde human hair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed flapper body with slender limbs, elongated lower legs with above the knee jointing. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1078 Simon & Halbig S&H 9 (head) Heinrich Handwerck (body). Comments: circa 1920. Value Points: beautifully preserved flapper-era doll with original body and wig, wonderful rose silk coat and matching bonnet, delicate short dress and bloomers, rose silk stockings, shoes, and having original watch and fob, parasol, and long gloves.
