16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head with heart-shaped face, small blue glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2033 BSW (in heart) 537. Comments: Bahr and Proschild for Bruno Schmidt, circa 1912, the model is known by collectors as "Wendy". Value Points: compelling dear expression, characterized by heart-shaped face, upturned nose, small eyes and full generous lips, original body and body finish, original wig, wearing beautiful antique costume highlighted by pale velvet coat with fur trim, matching silk ribboned bonnet and unusual antique tan shoes with pale green sateen rosette and edging.
