Description
10" (25 cm.) Bisque socket head with sculpted topknot, forelock and side curls, large brown glass side-glancing eyes, thick black eye liner and upper fringed lashes, large-dot brows, button-shape nose, closed mouth with thin lips in impish smile, composition five piece toddler body with chubby torso, short arms and legs with spread-apart fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: ges gesch O'Neill JDK 10. Comments: Kewpie, designed by Rose O'Neill, made by Kestner, Germany, circa 1910, included is antique romper suit. Value Points: rare model in superb original condition, choice bisque, enhancing decorative glaze on forelock curl, original body with original finish.
