14" (36 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head with plump facial modeling on original bisque shoulder plate with unusual high neck cut, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, delicately painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with prim downcast lips, accent lip lines, impressed philtrum and lines around sides and below mouth, unpierced ears, original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, softly stuffed kid poupee body with plump shaping, kid over wooden upper arms, porcelain arms from above the elbows, gusset-jointed hips, kid-over-wooden mid-thighs, wooden attached ball-joint at knee, the torso with two brass grommet-edged holes with silk ribbons that allow the doll to be seated in a held position. Condition: generally excellent, very faint line from left eye to rim, tiny flake on side of left thumb. Marks: (Rohmer stamp on torso). Comments: Leontine Rohmer, an early model from her illustrious firm having her deposed seating and head attachment systems, circa 1860. Value Points: rare and very beautiful poupee has her original French trunk with interior label, and owns three lovely gowns and bonnets, nine various undergarments or night shifts, and leather ankle boots with wooden heels.
