6" (15 cm.) mother. A beautifully illustrated box depicts a woman with son and daughter with mountain, lake and American flag scene in the background, labeled "The American Lady and her Children, in a variety of beautiful costumes" (in English and German), and contains inside mother, son, and two daughters paper dolls, along with double-sided costumes for each: two gowns for mother, two outfits for son, three outfits for daughters including one in which the girl is holding a little doll. Box quite worn, dolls and contents very good to excellent. Circa 1850.
