13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, pale blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, pierced ears, original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, original muslin poupee body with shapely torso, kid arms with separately stitched fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks:  0. Comments: circa 1880, the beautiful poupee wears her elaborate original folklore costume of the Bourbonnais region of France, comprising red woolen gown with black Alencon lace, black silk tablier with matching lace trim, fichu, undergarments, wooden sabots, original earrings, and original woven straw "A Deux Bonjours" bonnet of unique style. Value Points: beautifully preserved poupee with wonderfully detailed original costume.
