Description

24" (61 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with black sculpted hair waved behind the ears into uniform finger curls, black glass enamel eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms. Condition:  good condition, original finish with craquelure overall. Comments: circa 1865. Value Points: the appealing doll wears antique costume with (frail) silk skirt, undergarments, jacket, bonnet, leather shoes, being sold from the estate collection of the late Madeline Merrill.
