Description

16" (41 cm.) All wooden-carved doll with socket head, deeply set eye sockets with narrow intaglio eyes, white eyedots, black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, rounded nose with nostril accents, closed mouth with extended upper lip and full pouty lower lip, unusually large ears, original blonde tacked on wig, wooden spring-jointed body with holes in feet for positioning. Condition: very good, original finish, rub on nose and bottom lip, slight typical play wear. Marks: Schoenhut Dolls Pat. Jan.17, '11 USA & Foreign Countries. Comments: Schoenhut, the Graziano model 403 from the initial year of 1911; according to Carol Corson's Schoenhut Dolls, the initial version of the 403 model was likely made for six months only.
