28" (71 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with pear-shaped facial modeling, full cheeks and chin, pale blue/grey paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eye-liner encircles the eye sockets, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brush stroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the accented lips, well-defined pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, well defined musculature. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sch (in shield on head and bottom of derriere) 7 (raised number). Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1884. Value Points: superb original condition of the large bebe with loveliest pale bisque enhanced by rich painting of features, near mint original body, along with antique bonnet, undergarments, stockings, leather shoes marked with figure of doll in chemise, and (partially old) lovely antique dress.
