Description

6" (15 cm.) Cast iron figure of a well-fed prosperous business man seated in a red cast iron chair, wearing black business suit with yellow vest and white shirt. When coin is inserted into the slit in his hand, he feeds it "secretly" into his jacket pocket while nodding his head in an agreeable manner. The bank was an amusing stab at the nefarious backroom shenanigans of New York's Tammany political power group. J&E Stevens, circa 1875. Very good to excellent condition, original finish with some paint fading.
