9"l. A folk carved wooden horse posed on extended curved rocking base is painted its original ochre milk paint with brown painted mane, horsehair tail, leather saddle and harness, green painted base. The artist's initials SM9 (or 6WS) are carved onto the base. Excellent condition. Mid-19th century, folk-made and charmingly mis-proportioned, the carved toy is very appealing, a rare diminutive size.
