17" (43 cm.) 17"h. overall. 4" head. Porcelain shoulder head portraying adult lady with oval face and elongated throat, slightly modeled bosom, brown sculpted hair with long loop curls in front of each ear, and a coiled topknot at the crest, with tendrils of curls onto the nape, old muslin body with blue leather lower arms, wearing antique patterned homespun gown, undergarments, stitched on slippers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (three lines with dot, inside shoulderplate). Comments: Royal Copenhagen, circa 1840, the doll head was shown in Faurholt's Book of Dolls and Dollhouses and she noted "it might very well have been the first [model] ever made in the factory".
