Description
10" (25 cm.) A wooden framed box with window front is designed to appear as an elaborately draped theatre with a performing acrobat. Pencil engravings of theatre curtains and architectural carvings edge the window front and the sides of the box as well as the stage backing. Protruding from the center back is a rod upon which a paper cut-out figure of acrobat is suspended, and has jointed arms and legs. When sand-activated by hidden internal funnel, the acrobat performs a series of amazing tumbles and balances. Condition: generally excellent, functions well. Comments: a pencil written notation on the back says "made for Sunday school stall of Church Chapel bazaar May 4, 5, 6, 1880 by E.G. Rockall".
