16" (41 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head portraying a woman of the 1810 era, with elongated throat, modeled bosom, oval-shaped face with painted facial features, sculpted hair with stippled details around the forehead, long tendrils of curls onto the cheeks, four rows of coiled braids in front of a decorative hair comb that forms a crown on the top of the head, original slender leather body in so-called dangling style with unique stitched hole in lower torso for stand support, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, beautiful original complexion, kid body original and very clean and sturdy. Comments: circa 1820, possibly Johann Friedrich Muller.
