Description

11" (28 cm.) Pressed tin toy with hand-painted finish features a woman with brown painted topknot hair, painted facial features, painted costume with green skirt and scarf and brown apron, standing behind a row of mother duck and baby duck, each with painted feathers and eyes. When wound, the parade briskly moves along on its wheeled base, and the woman moves her arms up and down as though chasing the ducks away from her back door. Excellent condition, few paint flakes, object missing from woman's right hand and original slit in right side of baby duck suggests possibly an original flap (but not on left side). Circa 1895.
