Description
7" (18 cm.) A wooden box with marbled paper cover has glass front that reveals a hand-painted theatrical garden background. Posed centerstage is a hand-drawn and cut ballerina with tiered ruffled skirt and hinged arms and legs. When sand is activated in the back hidden compartment it causes the ballerina to dance in a realistic manner. Excellent condition, sand action works well. Circa 1850.
