Description
15" (38 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult lady with slender face, elongated throat, and slightly modeled bosom, gentle smiling expression, brown hair sculpted in waved looped curls low below the sculpted ears and formed into a braided chignon at back of head, painted facial features, shapely kid body, porcelain arms to above the elbows, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, right thumb broken. Marks: R 4 (script, incised inside shoulder plate). Comments: Germany, circa 1845, the model is said to be a portrait of Queen Victoria during her early years.
