7" (18 cm.) A narrow wooden box with lithographed paper cover has a surprise when the box lid is opened: a paper mache elephant with painted features, long accordion-trunk and original muslin costume with bowtie pops up in traditional "jack in the box" style. Excellent condition except lacking paper on upper wooden lid. Germany, circa 1880.
