22" (56 cm.) 22"l x 10"d x 6"h. A wooden framed box with removable lid and hinged front serves as the display for a miniature circus with a myriad of little lead figures comprising performers, animals, public, police, the orchestra, and accessories including flags, oil lamps, plants, and even a painted canopy and circus ring. There are 24 people, five animals including a monkey balanced on a pig, a performing horse, and an elephant that balances the acrobat's ladder. Condition: generally excellent, some wear to outer lid of box. Marks: CBG Paris (paper label). Comments: Cuperly, Blondel and Gerbeau, circa 1890, a rare and visually stunning presentation set.
