13" (33 cm.) seated. 16" standing. Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of man with upturned head, black sculpted windblown hair, enamel eyes, open mouth, teeth, tongue, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, wearing simple peasant costume and posed seated in rush-seat wooden chair holding a wooden violin. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
