13" (33 cm.) Pink tinted porcelain shoulder head with black sculpted hair in exaggerated tousled fashion, curls onto the face, painted facial features with hint of smile, old muslin body with paper mache lower arms, painted muslin lower legs with painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: CN 1/6 A2 (inside shoulder plate, inscribed script). Comments: circa 1850,the rosy cheeked boy was written about by Estrid Faurholt in her Book of Dolls and Dollhouses, "This boy was a nice surprise. Early one morning the postman rang and brought this doll as a present from an unknown person who had heard about [my] preoccupation". The doll is wearing its original costume as presented to Mrs. Faurholt and later acquired by Legoland Museum.
