8.5" (22 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head portraying woman with black sculpted hair waved over the ears into chignon at back of head, painted facial features, block torso that attached to dowel of original wooden stand, kid arms, original black silk tunic over folded paper "skirt"; each paper in the skirt is actually a "fortune" or oracle for the person selecting it. The fortunes are all German language, indicating its creation for that market. Condition: very good, fine unrestored condition although a tad dusty. Comments: Germany, circa 1845.
