Description
8" (20 cm.) A cloth-costumed doll with paper lithographed face over newspaper wrapped straw form, has imaginative cotton costume of various scraps of fabric. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: the final doll featured in the Estrid Faurholt Book of Dolls and Dollhouses, later acquired by Legoland Museum, described thusly by the collector, "Even in the darkest moments there must be time for play. This sad little creature is a German doll made in the final years of the first World War. She consists of a bit of newspaper filled with straw and held in place by her "costume" which consists of some small bits of cloth (four different materials) for a dress and a picture for her face."
